It's hard to say "mccabe is a premier defenseman" without this sudden urge to... clarify.
Yes McCabe can shoot. His best asset is his shot from the blue line, it's a real cannon. And true, it's up to the D to have the best cannons. In that respect, McCabe is pretty good.
But AS a defenseman, McCabe is garbage. He gets stripped easily. He routinely makes abominable passing decisions. He can't feed it forward. He chokes -alot. Put bluntly, he is a one-trick Dman with terrible hockey sense on D.
