  • long live the king of calypso, might sparrow i appreciate your cleverness you certainly are a gifted man i love the high spirit and energy you never seize to give in your songs and dancing i hope inspite of illness you have that smile on your face and the look of mischief in your eyes

  • @daddariosamos54 on my earlier post Sparrow was very sick late this summer. It's not the first time Sparrow has bounced back (remember his song Sparrow Dead) and thank goodness he did again.

  • @GetOnBad hello there! I know Sparrow from my dad, he love's him! And I like he's music too! So, I'm interested to know what do you mean with "Say a prayer fo d Sparrow, he's in a bad way"" ?? Is he's daying or what?!

    Thanks! Saying hi from Mexico!

  • DWAnthony, thank you for your Sparrow videos. This is a classic with the Sunshine Band and while the Troubadors were great, Sunshine's driving bass took Sparrow's music to a different level. Say a prayer for d Sparrow, he's in a bad way.

  • yes de big big bamboo!!!

  • Teacher Mildred

  • @Saiaton : It might be the Byron Lee version.. more in the jump up calypso style.

  • OK Anybody know another 'Big Bamboo' calypso with the refrain "Working for the Yankees on the railway" (and just as suggestive)? Guyanese girlfriend used to quote bits of it about 40 years ago but I've never found it.

  • CLASSIC CALYPSO SONG.

  • After all, it is very pleasant music!
