I had chosen this aria for the first recording of a YouTube Baroque ensemble that I was trying to gather in September 2009. Some excellent work had been done with the bass viol player, Ernst Stolz, and also some creative and very promising work with the harpsichord player, Jin Kamei (duemusici); I wholeheartedly thank them both for this. But soon after the beginning of this project, I made a long stay in Turkey, and when I came back home, I did not find the time to work on it again.
I finally decided to upload this working file, with sampled instruments playing a MIDI file, and Eser's 'sotto voce' singing recorded at 2 am after giving a 3-hour concert. She only recorded the A and B sections that night, so there are no variations in the da capo. I hope that we will eventually get around to working again on this project.
