well cuz i had the spare cash i just went and got a new asus and so far it rocks. but if any one does fix this buggy vid thing let me know. on another note my bro was messing with it and had it working thru external monitor but its also buggy and again no longer works. hp lost a customer with this defective crap. i did like it before it started falling apart.

leigh8959 your computer has a problem the hpdv9700 series was comended for how long it can last on a simgle charge and being a 17 inch laptop

same thing just happened to mine but I've had it for about 3 years. I lost all my documents photos etc. I thought it just destroyed the screen but it would not even connect to an external monitor. :(

i had mine for less then a year and the screen lock thing on the side poped the screen case and broke it. and there are several manufacturer errors.

ye iv just bowt this laptop its sweet its soooooooo guud it plays cod 4 perfectly the bult in webcam is realy good quality and so is the mic i jus luv evrythin about it. i recomend this laptop to anyone who's lookin for a laptop
