  • @TonyZSpirit God ordered the temples to be adorned with holy objects and decorations. Robes, God ordered the Jewish Priest garments to be Scarlet and Purple. What mad-made rituals? All the "rituals", or Sacraments, we do, are all supported by the Bible. Confession: John 20:21. Eucharist: Main Chapter of John 6. Holy Orders: Matthew 16:18-19. Etc. And our "priest" are called pastors, or Fathers. The term "priest" is a popular term, and it was adapted. But the real term is pastor.

  • I can't believe how bad the "church" has gotten. The buildings, robes, all the man-made rituals from the "church", statues, etc. I say this out of love, 1 Peter 2:5-9 As believers we have a "royal priesthood" and "holy priesthood."The NT says we should have: Pastors, Elders, deacons, and bishops. Nowhere do I see "priests" teaching the church in the NT. Please have "Ears to hear," because we are grieving God so much and almost everyone seems to be blind about that. Read Mat 15:7-9, Isai 44:9-20.

  • I always try to go to a Priest like on a retreat or something so I never have to see them again haha xD But I still go, I have not gone in a while... I should, but I have recently been too afraid to go =P

  • Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?”

Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.

  • RECONCILIATION IS AWESOME! I look forward to getting my penance. I go to confession once a week. Their are ten different priests that I go to. I rotate them each week.

  • What do you mean car wash? After confession you'll be clear without sins!

  • Oh, yes, of course I know that. Don't worry, I'm not like a fallen away Catholic or anything because of that happening. I know tons and tons of great priests and have a lot of friends in seminary.

  • I hope you're not like most people who think that ONE person or ONE priest is THE ENTIRE CATHOLIC RELIGION. No priest is perfect, they are just MEN, humans, like you and I. They are to imitate Christ, but they are humans too. I'm sorry to hear your story, but there are more priests out there.

  • Although Confession is a very important Sacrament, we cannot use Confession as a Car Wash.

  • As the Eucharist feeds our soul, The Sacrament of Reconcialition showers our conscience anew :) ...

After a good confession one is "consciously" cleansed and renewed

Caffeine Queen, I concur with donboscohan -find it in your heart to pray for that priest as well.
