@sohnrog Hi, I am only an amatuer sailor and crew on the journey so I hope I answer your questions correctly! We were sailing from Skagen to Inverness and sailing into the wind most of the way. At this stage we had a storm jib and three reefs in the main. The boat speed I think was about 7 knots and the auto helm worked well especially during the frequent heavy showers and spary off the bow! We never made our destination, instead we crawled into Peterhead as the weather got increasingly worse.
What point of sail were you on? What was boat speed? Was the auto helm able to steer in these conditions? Great video.
