These exercises can be found in my Hi-Hat Master drum book (available at www.drumgate.com)
They are described in the book but I thought it would be helpful to show them in a video as well.
Hope you enjoy watching my videos!
Take care

  • @6pam6plin6 - thats what im saying.....thought he was gonna so some extraordinary shit....smh..

  • @6pam6plin6 A little harsh, Ben. Does it not occur to you that there are beginner drummers out there who might not be as versed as your good self in the art of the hi hat foot splash and might indeed consider this a neat trick?

  • This only works with a good hihat stand.

  • The control you possess within each left foot "stroke" is outstanding.

  • haha when i was 10 i inventet thi technik for my own, just for finding out a few years later million people alredy know it

  • Yeah, alright, I was actually checking war pigs too because my first thought was you're asking about that song. The hi-hat pattern in there is famous but he's not using this technique in war pigs, I know it sounds like he does but in live videos you can see he's playing it with his hand.

    Cheers

  • @Jungleritter I'm retarded. I meant War Pig. I got the two completely mixed up. :P

  • I just checked Iron Man but I couldn't hear/see a part in the song where he used this technique...

    Cheers
