Can someone tell me where to go from here? Every element dangling in perfect underhoned majesty, a group of men with some instruments god knows who respecting who, tense necks heads down and that warbler, for christs sakes, gimme that ol time ligion gimme that oOOL time ligion gimme that ol time religionits good enough for me

I first heard this on a bootleg CD "If You Got Ears" around 20 years ago. It is also on "The Original Bat Chain Puller" (1994). Sadly the quality is poor on both discs which is a shame. For me it is one of his best-ever songs.

this is so fucking good.

@vollsticks I think I posted it by accident, sorry!

@prince66vince Denny Whalley (Bongo Fury band)--slide guitar Jeff Moris Tepper--(Shiny Beast/Doc.../Crow bands)--guitar John French--drums John Thomas--keyboards
Though it's possible John French also played guitar on this, don't have my copy of "Grow Fins" to hand and the "Dust Sucker" liner notes are pretty poor! Hope this helps you out! All the best to a fellow Beefheart fan!

@billychuck59 It's amazing, innit? So cool to hear the Captain playing his own song in it's rawest form!
-
@troutmask22 And it's on the Dust Sucker "original" Shiny Beast demos...but it's a fucking great song, innit...when it soars off "hobo ain't been around for sometime"...

Friend of a friend is a massive Beefheart-head. Has stuff that I've never even heard of...
