At least the Irish put up a fight. The last Scotsman to take issue with England's dominance was William Wallace. 26+6 =1.

@thecrusades2 those are Irish kilts, solid colors are Irish,

@thecrusades2 Irish have always played these pipes for centuries,

Two bands always among the finalists at the World Championship in Glasgow are (a) St Laurence O'Toole from Dublin and (b) Field Marshal Montgomery from Northern Ireland. Check the BBC coverage of the Championships.

@nsu4 it was a yearly event until 2008, after that they decided to have it every 5 years starting this year on September 10th, at Town Hall once again.

Too funny. A few guys in Scotland have nothing better to do than type how jealous they are! Relax fellas, in America we are a melting pot of cultures. That is what has made us so strong. Bagpipes, especially NYPD Bagpipes are as much a part of the fabric of New York City as they are in Scotland. Maybe if you guys beat us in the American Revolution you'd have an argument.

This is predominantly Scottish culture not Irish.
