For those who have never seen the entire movie, I urge you to rent/buy d/l it somewhere. While it's an impossible tale of head hunters in Borneo and an Army deserter, it all ties together very well and makes sense. Nolte is at his best as Learoyd ( the king) who earns the respect of a British officer sent to band the natives to fit the Japanese. A moving score by the late Basil Poledouris makes it a joy to watch. The ending will bring you to tears. Too bad the critics never cared for this film.
