Descent 2 : Level 20 Boss (Baloris Prime)

Fighting the Boss Robot, Difficulty Hotshot;
This one seems to be immune against Matter Weapons (Gauss), but can be defeated with Energy Weapons. However, this is one of the easier Bosses of Descent2

Does the boss cloaking and release of plasma bomblets only occur on the higher difficulties? I remember playing this a long time ago on the easiest difficulty and I didn't recall the boss cloaking.

I remember the first time I beat this boss. My shields were almost gone but I got him... Then the PIGs it spawns killed me, man I was so pissed.
