@primogenito01 Actuallt, imost cuban claim that salsa and cha cha are from their country, but the fact is the roots of salsa are from Cuba, but Salsa itself comes from New York... and all music from the central america was influenced by Africa... so Salsa, Bachata, Cha Cha, Rumba, Rara... those are cousins...it all comes from Africa..
primogenito01: Please take it don't yawn over it, we Haitians, we have a library full of our Musical Repertoire that the world over are taking advantage of, even in Cuba we Haitian immigrants put the needed Zest in your Culture, so please don't stress over that, You should be proud that an artist like Shoubou is using this rhythm
Isn't it? We received those rhythms in a raw form back when slavery in Cuba. We took it, welcomed it, dressed it up, ornamented it with Spanish, Indian, Chinese, and Moorish flavor, and came out with this. Now they want it back. Too bad! You can't have it: That's Cuban stuff. You can play it but don't claim it buddy; that's mine; given to me by my Mandingo grandpa and my Spanish grandma. That's Cuban stuff, period.
Ca c'est bien!!
