With a career spanning almost 20 years, Tarik Sultan is one of the few male Oriental Dancers in the world. He is the proteg'e of dance legend "Morocco", a leading pioneer and authority in the field of Middle Eastern Dance and was the assistant director of her company, "The Casbah Dance Experience from 2002 till 2005.

Over the years his talent and dedication to the art of Oriental Dance has earned him a reputation as a dynamic performer, teacher and choreographer in his own right. He is also a dedicated researcher and has written several articles on the history and culture of Oriental Dance. To that end, Tarik regularly travels to the Middle East and North Africa in order to increase his knowledge and to document the various folk dances of those countries.

Tarik can be seen at the clubs Le Souk, Casbah Rouge and Mehenata where he performs regularly every Friday and Saturday nights, (consult the Shows page for times and locations). He also performs one Wednesday of every month with Morocco at "The Lafayette Grill", in her Monthly Magical Mideastern Moments show.

  • interesting

  • I think I read that in several occassions. I don't doubt that. We decided to agree that that was empirical, however, and it has the limitations when it comes to education. I believe we did converge in those areas and there is no reason to open this chapter again.

  • indeed. We've cleared things up, but just to let you know, I've spent years not only reading various sources, but doing my own filed research in Egypt,( I wasn't there as a tourist), and interviewing and discussing the subject with people in the Islamic and Middle Eastern communities from several countries. I don't believe anything just because one person says so or I read it in a book.

  • i never said you lied. I think we cleared the issue on the other thread. peace.

  • you've got to chill. You are right, I have just checked. It's someone else with an awfully similar nickname. I sincderely apologize (!). I'm a genuine guy and I would never do such a thing. Only now I realized it, really. I was commenting on a greek video when someone else attacked me with a similar nickname. sorry man.

  • As my very last comment, what's exactly the hierarchy you mean? Because what i meant about my interviews includes from the English National Ballet and the American Ballet Theater to Momix and Joacquin Cortes.

  • You're a disgusting lier. It's the very first time i meet you here and you know it. What you forget is that even Tariq can check it by reading all of my comments. I don't know why you're doing that and why you don't have the guts to accuse me in a personal message than using this page. It makes me extremely sad as i respect Tariq extremely much. So, i'm not going to answer another time to you here, or anywhere else.

  • it doesn't matter. I never doubted that. you lost your credibility only when you assumed that my knowledge is not factual just because i disagree with you. you have no qualifications to educate anyone and it's important to identify yourself just as a performer. Just because you read something does not make you a researcher. You are not informed enough to untrap yourself from the biases!

  • My information on the dance in this interview is factual and can be easily proven. The person you just replied to is a native Egyptian and an artist and knows the truth of my statements. Ask any Egyptian and they will tell you I spoke the truth here. Look at the interviews I did on my channel and the footage I shot on location in Egypt andd you will see I speak the truth.

  • his work yes but as he has just proven, not his knowledge about the dance or respect about people who may disagree with his views on the dance itself.
