Personally I usually used Decency Defied as vocal practice, and it was my first true "death metal" song, along with inspiration for practice/first song I began to practice with. This one seems VERY fun, I'ma try it XD Keep it up bro, you rock.
If I had to compare my vocals to a band...I would say my growls are kinda like Carnifex, but my pig squeals (Which I'm especially proud of) Sound like Degrade. Lost Torso Found ftw ^^

Yeah, I don't know any technique but fry screaming that can be done quietly, and when I try fry screaming it sounds like a malfuctioning hinge. It's a VERY unpleasant sound. A strange thing is that my growl SOUDS guttural and"wet", but FEELS completely "dry". I don't know if growling is supposed to involve any saliva, but mine certainly does not.

Cover Dear Diary by We Are The End
Epic cover btw
Shit mate, awesome. Btw, I have a question. How was your vocals when you first started practising? Did they sound a lot different from this, or not?

@XQriousX Oh yes, very different. It took me several years to train my voice to not sound like complete ass.

@Xasthur Ok. In fact I'm kinda trying to learn how to scream the way you do. It sounds a little bit similar, but when you do it it almost sounds like you're growling with falsetto voice, or some kind of overtone. I can't really get that sort of sound; it sounds awful when I try. The tehcnique I'm using is like the angry sigh sorta way. It can only be done loud, and it sounds a bit like the current vocalist of Psycroptic. Any tips? OwO

@XQriousX That overtone is coming from a lack of warming up and practice beforehand, my fault. On normal days my growl is VERY loud and has much less of that. How long have you been practicing?

@Xasthur About a year. Another thing that sorta disturbs me is the fact that the upper part of my throat tenses up and pops out when i scream. It kinda makes my adams apple invisible, but without that can't seem too get the right sort of vibration. An explaination is probably that i sing with a dark, vibrating chipmunk voice, like Dez Fafara of coal chamber, and then I just use more air. It sounds quite guttural, though it doesn't feel that way, and it does hardly affect my voice at all.

@XQriousX Mine hurt until I got used to it. I've tried to experiment with different amounts of force while exhaling and growling, and time and time again I get the best tone when almost at max volume.
