  • This has been among my favorite recordings since I first heard it, in Copenhagen over 60 years ago! Thank you for the nice presentation.

  • Thanks for your appreciation. It's left to we old guys nowadays to make sure that the pure artistry and musicality of these old recordings is broadcast to the world via youtube, in the face of the face of peurile pap that is dished up as an excuse for music these days.

  • @bussesuck1: Jimmie Noone, Albert Nicholas, Omer Simeon, Leon Rappolo...

  • pure bliss,

  • I believe that this is Johnny Dodds greatest recording amonst so many wonderful recordings from the master of the blues-tinged jazz clarinet. This recording is 85 years old and still sounds incredibly fresh. I am sure our great-grandchildren will be enjoying this in another 85 years.

  • Thank you for this jewel.

  • @wolfiejazz - not so true I'm quite young, usually play free jazz both on alto and clarinet and i'm here to pay my due to Johnny Dodds - as I'm doing since 1982 :)

  • Dodds, Jimmy O' Bryant, George Lewis, Harry Carney... any other amazing clarinetists to check out?

  • As a young and coming clarinet player, Johnny is truly inspiring
