Casual interaction between two students (one American, one international) that uses typical American phrases (Whats Up? Lets have lunch, How are you?, What are you up to?) to show American social expectations. When Americans use these phrases, they expect short answers (Im fine, Not much). Americans arent necessarily asking how you really are. Responding with a short answer is typical, because Americans are usually on a deadline for something (going to a meeting) or just trying to acknowledge the other person.
