Wish I could hear the accent, but I grew up here. Maybe the word figure was a clue. I sometimes say figer too. About the weather, The termperate rainforest on the coast (milder winters and summers) is often grey and foggy which is why the trees can grow so tall. The Willamette Valley has some of the most productive agricultural land in the US. there's great skiing in the Cascade range (drier and sunnier) Then there is the high desert in the east.

We do have an accent. It's weird to think we do. But I travel. And I can't tell you how many times people have not only nailed me on being from Oregon. But from Eugene!

Lol, I love how we deny that we have some sort of accent. We have accents?!

I'm from the NW of Oregon :P. Born in Beaverton- now living in Tigard.
@GuiFigueiredoA
Rain? What rain? LOL! There is a strip running vertically down Oregon referred to "the Valley" (Portland to California) where it rains and is beautiful. The other 75% of the state is high desert with bona fide tumble weeds.
