Patriot questions Rep. Weiner (D-NY) At Townhall Meeting

Thursday, August 27th, Townhall meeting conducted by Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY), member U.S House of Clunkers. Transcript: "Thank you Congressman. My name is Bonnie Cohen. Im a patriotic, law abiding, tax paying citizen who clings to her religion. We the American people were fed up with Washington so we voted for change. But we did not vote to remake the nation! You may not be aware of it but we love this country! Im an Independent; Ive never been interested in politics. But, let me tell you Congressman that for the first time in my adult lifetime I am afraid for my country. I see Washington bankrupting our future one day at a time! From TARP to Stimulus to 9000 earmarks to auto bailouts to Cap and Trade. And now you guys want to take over health care after you screwed up housing. I think its fair to say that Congress has been acting stupidly! My question for you Congressman is; do you plan to go back to Washington and deliver for us what we actually voted for? Or is that above your pay grade and do you plan to just promote your own career and campaign every hour on MSLSD?

This is really sad. We live in a civilized society where it makes sense that we all pay into a program so that it's cheaper for all. That is how our police department and fire department work. That is how our public transportation system works. Why wouldn't it make sense to do the same for healthcare? We are the only industrialized nation without a government run healthcare system. It's time to turn off Faux Snooze and wake up!

@BramSLI1 - How about Social Security, Medicare, United states postal service, let’s take a close look at what the government runs and really think hard before jumping into a government ran health care system. Would you really want the same people who've got us into this financial mess, deciding how much your life is worth. How much to pay doctors, and if you don't think these are issues that will be important you might want to go get a cat scan, you might have a tumor.. LOL j/p with you!

@epicstyle28 The government isn't' perfect but at least they aren't going to gouge us to death like the republicans would want. Medicare is actually a very well run program. If they use the same principal we should actually get a really good plan. To me it just makes more sense that we all pay into a system so that it's more affordable for all. Germany, for example, has a very similar system and it works very well. It's also similar to the system I had when I was in the Navy. It worked.
