Steve "Melt Solder" Weber built a small ATtiny based controller that reads a digital thermometer and sends the temperature periodically via Morse code. http://kd1jv.qrpradio.com/temp2morse/temp2morse.htm I liked the idea, and wired up the six components to make a little RF beacon, which could be powered by my Morse beacon program: http://brainwagon.org/2009/11/14/another-try-at-an-arduino-based-morse-beacon/

  • This is almost exactly how I'm keying my Pixie II --- which is also not much more than a Colpitt's oscillator -plus- some 'bench scrapings!' Great video.
