I have them here. They like the Star Jasmine plant I used as groundcover. I get a few each day, but mine have more shiny green coloring on them. When they take off, they really go quick. I've never been able to photograph them they are so easily scared.

When I was around 4, my dumb dad gave me and my brother each a b.b. gun and said, "Don't shoot robins." (Mich state bird.) A few moments after hearing him say that, my brother shot a bird. We ran up to it and it was fluttering up-side down bleeding with its beak hanging out the back of its head!
Too much psychological stuff to mention hear, suffice it to say that I went down a long, bad road before I came to my senses.
PLEASE DON'T GIVE B.B. GUNS AS TOYS!
GOD DIDN'T CREATE BIRDS TO BE SHOT!!!

@cgay3s At incredibly rare times they will stay a touch longer, especially around kids. When I was younger I stood right next to a hovering hummingbird and stood still-so did my friend who was next to me.
