  • Way to go Oprah! So great to see someone so completely devoted to using their life energy and influence for good.

  • @blognewb well-said. sometimes people just too ridiculously and irrationally dislike other more successful.

  • @blognewb I've been done with this back and forth - not sure why I even engaged you in the first place. As I stated before, keep your opinions and I'll keep mine.

  • @msrparks1 False. I don't "worship this woman". truth is you are more obsessed with her than I am with any celebrity including Oprah. Why does she have to be responsible for the piss poor performance of your city? Most likely it's the teachers like you who with that type of mindset that are incompetent. She has sent 65,000 students in school, sponsored predominantly AMERICAN kids to go to college.

Count how many employees Harpo in Chicago has and the number of tourists she brings = good economy

  • @blognewb I've never been pessimistic. Always honest. Always real. Shame on your misunderstanding and blaming. Have a nice day - and you and so many others really should stop worshiping this woman. I stated an opinion that is shared by so many others who live here in the city of Chicago, Christian and non-Christian. I'll hold to my opinion and you can hold to yours. As long as the youth in Chicago get proper education, I could care less what you may think of me.

  • @msrparks1 That makes it even worse then since you're a "youth minister" yet you have the audacity to, in your own words, "judge Oprah", when people like you should've been more sympathetic. I have done many things for my community and more doing outreach. volunteer teaching in rural areas, but I don't go around online and judge people for how they use their own resources. PHILANTHROPY IS PHILANTHROPY, regardless of where, how, or when you do it. Shame on your pessimism

  • I would just like to take a moment to encourage you all to reach out to youth in your community. Mentor, give, look for ways to help and encourage them RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE! You can make a difference in your community!

  • @blognewb I think it is important for you to know that I'm not just a random online ranting person that judges Oprah. I am a youth minister, teacher, and hard-working mentor within various schools in the city of Chicago. If I had resources and connections like Oprah, I would do MUCH more for the youth in my city. She is a philanthropist and I commend her work overseas but as a resident of Chicago I see how much she does not do here. How about you? What are YOU doing to help youth? :)

  • @msrparks1 What have YOU done for the city of Chicago and their needy school systems? Do not dictate how one person wants to help out ANYBODY and how they use their own money and power to spread goodness.
