In the beginning of the 20th century, Belmont-DeVilliers, near downtown Pensacola, Florida was the heartbeat of black culture. Entertainers such as Aretha Franklin and B.B. King frequently performed in neighborhood clubs. However, in the 1950s, many buildings were vacated and crime became an issue. Today, Belmont-DeVilliers is making a strong comeback thanks to business owners, volunteers and organizations like the new Devilliers Cultural Heritage Museum. In this video, artist and entrepreneur Sonja Griffin Evans joins host Jeff Nall of Council on Aging of West Florida with an update on the neighborhood's progress and the Museum's Devillers Nights.
