@liliannajulianna yes I had the marina removed in November of 2008 and got pregnat in May of 2009 and just had my Second child on Jan, 29 of this year! I also have many friends that got theirs taken out because they where also ready to have more children and they too got pregant right away! hope this helps. i now just got another one put in on Tuesday and am feeling so much better( I was getting headachs from the pills and patches and do not suffer with the Marina!)

@HOWSPIFFY123 I have an IUD and its horrid! and you all ways wonder if you have a tube pregnancy because it sends you all sorts of mixed signals , for 5 years! please please dont get it, some women are fine on it but most seem to say otherwise!

i have had mirena for about 3 years and i am doing o.k and i really dont have any side affects,and i get it checked out every 6 months..but every body is diffrent with it but i really like it ..but i guess it all depends on what doctor puts it in you...becuase thier is doctors who really dont have any experiance on it ..

My iud also escaped into abdomen. I have surgery Jan 18.

and my cuzin had bad prob. with it. it went into her abdomen and made holes in her intestines , she had surgry to look for it so they can take it out , hope u well be ok

Only the idiots are saying that iuds or hormonal contraception kill babies.
The copper iud works by killing sperm and theoretically may prevent implantation. The Mirena works by releasing hormones that affect the lining in the uterus.
Don't be stupid, people. Ignorance kills. If you oppose contraception, just say it. Don't lie about facts to women who want to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Isn't it funny how the contraception some conservatives oppose are also the most successful forms?

Google Mirena or IUD side effects. This contraception causes a lot of problems for women that Doctors in the US are ignoring and will have to face soon. Be informed before getting an IUD!!!
