Why do you have to be so negative? Obama seems like a nice guy... If you keep acting so gloomy, you'll ruin the economic "recovery" for everyone. When I'm feeling down, I just have a diet coke and cut myself with broken glass- or i catch some Friends reruns.

This is old news. The pipeline was why Gov. Bush of Texas hosted the Taliban in 1999. This trans-national pipeline has become a "Holy Grail" of sorts for the West. They'll make a deal with the devil to get control of the worlds energy reserves. The Globalist learned the lesson of WW2... Control the energy reserves, control the world. ;)

Escobar's analysis of Obama's surge is only "old news" from the pipeline standpoint. His breakdown of the factional implications is important, not to mention the use of Carnegie Endowment for "Peace" documents, Holbrooke's own words and Ray McGovern's insights. You're right on about the lesson of WWII, but there are multiple perspectives that need to be incorporated into a comprehensive assessment.
