actually,as I remember now, I remember most media thought Bush lost the '04 debate but (upon more research here) he managed a tie with Kerry.
That having been said, according to you McCain should also have an advantage because according to Obama he is Bush and running for another term...in other words he has the advantage of an incumbency.

Funny that you should mention Bush...Bush was re-elected after Polls showed he lost the 3rd(last) debate in 2004.

It's interesting to see the CNN/Opinion Research Corp. polls for each debate. Obama was seen to win all three: 51-38 for the first, 54-30 for the second, and 58-31 for the last, so it seems there is agreement that he has got better as McCain has declined - becoming more and more an angry, bitter, incoherent, and very old, man flailing about with no sense of direction. My respect for the judgement of Americans is starting to return, after I had lost it when they chose to elect Bush twice!
