I love Salif Keita bcz in this song he speak the truth ,He say sometime the child we woman didn't give birth to will respect us more than our own child.He say that He love her but she don't love him back but it's ok bcz is not her fault and it's not his(that's way it is) ,(gonbandamai gonbadamai) who can help Me, who can help Me (I say only Allah(GOD) can help you )Oh I am so luck to be Manikan bcz that's the languish he speaking. I'm Nigerian and have no idea what Salif is talking about but i love the music with a passion, Nigeria do gr8 music but i'm not sure which i prefer- Nigerian or Mali music, u guys do gr8 music, there's som'n about mali music, i think its the blend btw arabic and sub saharan music.
i live in England at the moment but am somewhere in Africa on business and i was woken this morning when i heard my neighbour playing this song. i just had to find it on the internet!

wen i rolled my car i was playing this song. i was on my way to see my frend who was stabbed n wounded n was calling for me. i did nt make it. my frend passed away before i cud get to him. it was the saddest day of my life.we use to play this song n dream of owning beach houses n Audi R8's.lol..miss that fuckface man!!!!!! beautiful song
