One of my patients is an 88 year old ex jazz drummer who was good friends with Trummy and introduced me to the name Danny Barcelona! All this time, I thought I was a jazz fanatic--my patient schooled me! Love it!

If you can, try and locate a copy of Joe Darensbourg's autobiography -- it is quite entertaining and insightful.

I could never imagine any of the rappers of today offering to help out the March of Dimes or any other charity. They're only in it for the bling and the hos

This is from 1961. The rest of the band is Billy Kyle on piano, Joe Darensbourg on clarinet & Mort Herbert on bass. Mort left the band a short time after this was filmed. He had been with Louis since 1958. He was replaced by Irving Manning, who didn't last long. Louis fired him. That's when Billy Cronk came into the band at the beginning of 1962.
