  • You ran a 14.9 in a 14.0(stock) car. You should have beat that SI but it is hard to launch a TL-S without getting alot of wheel hop

  • I won that race, and show me a auto TL-S that gets 14 stock, the guys with the camera were cheering on the SI. That SI has Every bolton and Hondata. He is awaiting the turbocharger in the mail now.

  • civic is souped up right and yours is only modded because he beat you... fuzzy logic works every time.

  • @gtdrummerdude went back and calculated the DAs on some other runs, and it seems that it runs slower in -1000 weather than sea level to +800 weather. I'm not sure why. At the same track with -900DA it ran a tenth and 1 mph slower. I noticed the same problem at other strips as well, and it baffles me, this shouldn't be a problem on an EFI car. The 60 foot times were actually a tick slower on the 13.9 runs and it was still quicker. Weird, maybe it really does need a tune.

  • @gtdrummerdude Yup, mine runs slower at a lower DA for some reason. With one less mod it ran 14.1s@99/100 in 1000-1500 DA. 13.9s were done at basically sea level, -150DA, still feels slow though. Shift kit and a tune are on the way, so we'll see what that changes.

  • @03basesedan I'm in the same boat, but your car probably beats most cars on the road, making it a quick daily driver. I was running basically the exact same times as you out here in Phoenix at the end of November, and I was also on all-seasons, 225/60-15. Your density altitude has been close to -2000 ft this month though whereas mine has been around +1000 which is actually great for Phoenix. If I put the difference into a DA calculator, my car would run 13.4 @ 104.8 mph at Cecil. Sweet.

  • @gtdrummerdude ran a 13.907@101.38 the other day, 13.9s on all the other runs too, and i still think mine is slow. all-season 215/65/16s.

  • the si won the race but the TL had a better time.

  • Read my response to karsseboomh22. The new SI's are ok once they have intake, header, exhaust and Hondata but still only mid 14 worthy (in my area anyway). A would say a fast street car is a car that cuts 13s @ over 100 mph on regular all-season tires.

  • But an intake pipe with filter is worthless and the cars already come with high flow exhaust systems. The K20 responds well to TUNES which is why I think it was tuned. Plus I raced a friend with an '08 SI that had intake, race header, full exhaust, and Hondata turning 8900 rpm and I put two cars on him back when my car was runnning 14.7s.

  • well the k20 responds to mods very well so its most likly true...

  • they do run low 14s, 14.2 according to car and driver
