Ranting Patriot: Protest = Arrest

Pro-Life protestors are being removed and arrested from the Senate chamber during the US Supreme Court hearing for Sonya Sotomayor. What?! Where else are we going to protest what our government is doing that at public, televised congressional meetings? They ignore our letters, emails, phone calls, and visits! This is the only for of redress that they cannot ignore and cannot pretend didn't happen.

It really bothers me that the erosion of our liberties has occurred regardless of which party is in power.

We've got to look at America like the politicians do. They see themselves as the elite and the rest of us as the prols. We exist to make sure they, and their agendas, are taken care of in their view.

This is true of most in power with the exception of a small minority.

They use bills like Cap n Trade, Universal Health, Patriot Act, to keep us financially and physically bound.

Your assumption is correct. The First Amendment isn't just about protecting non-offensive speech that I agree with, it is about protecting offensive speech that I disagree with.

The First Amendment gives us the right to redress Congress of our greivances...if we can't do so without facing arrest, what has happened to the First Amendment.

Only cowards and thieves seek to silence the voice of opposition through arrest rather than argumentation.

Umm, I just discovered YouTube a couple of months ago. I opposed Good Ole Dub's Free Speech Zones (just like I opposed them when I attended college and they tried that crap there also).

So the answer is, I opposed what he was doing...just hadn't yet discovered YouTube. I couldn't stand Good Ole Dub anymore than I can stand Wacky Baracky!

So, I assume you are defending those on the left who get arrested for feeling & doing the same thing, correct?

I support you if you are in support of those Americans who flat out disagree with you but get arrested for doing the exact same thing...If not, then you are just a cry baby who does not understand what America is all about.

I think the Pro-Life voice is one of the loudest most militant voices there is. Not sure what your point is? I fall back on the question I asked!
