  • Why are Starbucks commercial so much like Apple commercials? Same stupid guitar music. Same "casual" editing. Same concept. This could just as well have been an Ipad commercial.

  • @yellowman88 Consulting requires confidence and surety, especially during presentations to C-levels, but when you're talking to someone who isn't BSing or studying it as a business model you're not going to get much traction with generic knowledge. Be careful because you never know who you are talking to on here.

  • @renix I work at a consulting firm that specializes in the coffee and tea industry.I'm relatively new but i've worked with a decent amount of companies over the years to understand the best sustainable model.Starbucks is one of the better coffeehouse chain restaurants

A lot of these local business fail b/c they compete with Chain restaurants and the existing local businessesObviously, location is key but sometimes owners purchase their store in the wrong location and you have to work with that.

  • @yellowman88 ......

  • @renix I understand your a coffee snob but it's not practical for everybody in the world to drink a PERFECT cup of coffee. You can't sustain a business model off of this. Yes if you are a local coffeehouse w/ it's own roaster then it's do-able. Best coffee is at these places but they sell their coffee at a higher price. Some consumers do not want to pay for this. Thus, they go out of business.

  • @yellowman88 How would you know what kind of a clue I have? I'm involved in the industry first-hand and I've roasted coffee myself. Thanks for the primer on simplified generic roasting terminology. Anything else you'd like to teach me about coffee from your infinite wisdom?

  • @renix you honestly have no clue what your talking about. Generally there are 3 different type of roasts. Light, Medium and Dark. Each roast have sub roasts. In dark they have French, Italian and Spanish. Spanish is the darkest out of the 3.

People have different preferences. The blonde is just a different roast with the SAME beans. It's a light roast.

Starbucks's had a light roast they called it "Breakfast Blend" but nobody cared for it b/c it wasn't really marketed.

  • @yellowman88 Point two: Starbucks coffee is not fresh. It's just not. Even their reserve coffees which as hilariously sell for up to $45/lb just have a "best by" date set at 3 months out from roast. Most bags just sit around. It's even compounded with light roasts since flavor profile peaks before 2 weeks after roast.

  • @yellowman88 No offense but you are mistaken. I'm not referring to which company is the best to invest in, or which big corp is the strongest. That's irrelevant to my point, which was that they've been burning coffee for years, which many people hate. Their savior has been milk and flavor syrups to dilute that flavor. Ask any microroaster or q-grader what they prefer and they will say light roast.

  • @renix I know the market pretty well. i swing trade and invest in only coffee related companies. Starbucks is one of the best b/c they have more resources than the small fishes of the sea. You have a very skewed idea of how the market works. There aren't that many coffehouse chains that have stores all around the world. Best coffee is fresh coffee and Starbucks has that power. They have good distribution system.
