  • Harry Middleton - a great American - will always be associated with the greater society that can and will be built one day. Around the world, even when mention of the US caused unease and dismay from her friends in the international community, the name of Jimmy Carter reminded us of the best in American ethics and the greatness of America as a force for peace and justice. I have President Carter's autograph in my study and I think of American greatness every time I see his likeness there.
