The Commodores - Easy -1977

Summer 1977, me at 11 years old playing football, basketball at Riverfront Park hanging with friends, being able to buy Now & Laters (vanilla was my favorite) fruit cocktail candies, lemon heads for 10 cents ,Slurpees for 25 cents Big Blows for a penny ( A dollar went a long way in 77 and we could stretch that sucker to the nth). Swimming at Cuscaden Park
and our mothers throwing our black butts out of the house at 7 in the morning during the summer and 11 of us boys walking to the Ybor City Boys Club and not coming back home until the street lights came on at dinner time. Listening to the Commodores "Easy" playing at your house party or throughout the neighborhood on radios, 8 tracks or skating rinks during the hottest summer on record totally priceless.

77' is about right! I had just left school and was out and about going to Disco's! Great days and great memories. Dancing to theDisco stuff but getting into position for the smooches was the real skill..got turned down and a few slaps but was all part of growing up! Still got all my EWF, Kool & The Gang and Commodores vinyl Albums..Lols

Brings back memories of the fall of 77, entering H.S. hanging out, playing handball after school, having crushes on girls, and having smooth jams like this to groove on. There will never be songs like this caliber again.

Sigh...makes me LONG for those carefree days..when things were so much simpler, we did as we were told without sassing back. When the communities did raise the children...ahhh yes, the great days of long ago..Thank you for the stroll down memory lane.

TheNewSoul2 is right on. That's exactly how it was in the late 70's. I'm not black either, but at the time was living with parents on a military base in Texas. Kick my ass out of the house at 7 and not come back til dark for dinner! This was a great song. I am also a metal guy, having played for 35 years also. I love it when people appreciate talent such as this regardless of their personal tastes in Music.
