I hope to clear up some of Dr. Paul's positions for you.

Since you are admirably interested in ideas and reason, I'd like to recommend some great sources for you to investigate these particular ideas further. They are really essential reading in my opinion.

I would start with The Law by Frederic Bastiat (all free material here):

Haha, are you refering to the background noise? That could be my computer (it has a couple of pretty loud fans on it at the moment), or it is more likely my duct work in my house. Whoever built it decided to use rigid ducts which make for a very noisy air conditioning! It's pretty irritating when you're watching TV and the air kicks on and you have to turn up the volume just to hear it.

The clear cutting depends on the state. Here in California we have a large logging industry, but clear cutting is not allowed on government lands. But rather they can only do selective cutting, which is actually very healthy for the forest.

Yes, that's true. In recent years some laws have been passed which only allow certain kinds of cutting, etc. But the principle remains. On the one hand you have people doing what is beneficial because they are forced to (which means they won't do it as well), and on the other you have people doing it on their own initiative because it is in their own interests.

And even if they were thinned, they would still burn. CA is a very dry state in the summer, we don''t get any rain fall after may. And quite often the terrain is only accessible to aircraft or small ground crews. Before you go spouting stuff off, how about you do a *LITTLE* bit of research first?
