  • @TiGer26xX Just no..

  • @TiGer26xX but compasses are designed to draw circles at least most of them are

  • thanks man!!!!

  • how to draw the perfect eclipse

    1) get a compass

    2) attach pencil/ pen to compass

    3) draw the eclipse

there you go how to draw the perfect eclipse

    ENJOY!

  • Heu, elle est où l'astuce ? C'est juste la démonstration de la DEFINITION d'une elipse...

  • Dude... That's like the definition of eclipse... What's the big deal???

  • But this is for Noobs

  • @EmSarahx same here!

  • i was looking for some art not fucking maths...

  • The conics and their many properties like their foci.

Where will we ever be without math!

  • thanks to the person who had uploaded this video

  • It is much easier using only paper or plastic line.

  • i was wondering if an ellipse can have a perfect 3 to 1 ratio diameter to circumference or is it also an infinate ratio like pi.

  • not sure thats easy... but cool

  • @bradleychow2000 en ellipse is a 2 dimensional figure. The key word here is "draw" meaning it's a picture, or a rendition. There are no holes in the ellipse, there are holes in the paper, which the ellipse is being illustrated on.

  • it would be useless for me since im look for unholed -__-

  • Yea a perfect ellipse yea with 2 holes in it

  • old school :)

  • @silvercomet1735

*Physically* impossible would be a better way to phrase it.

  • Ok, this sorta bugged me: It technically isn't a mathematically perfect ellipse due to the elasticity of the string and the size of the toothpicks. It is, however, close enough for most purposes provided you don't use anything stretchy (like a rubber band) or big like candles (instead of toothpicks).

Yeah, I'm going to get down-voted for this aren't I?

  • @acme420 it has a slightly different curvature than a circle.

  • @SanctumZero If you say this simply to mean you want a better example that this is in fact for ellipses, than I agree, however this ellipse just has a low eccentricity, so appears more circular...Buuuuuut I think you already knew that (just a lot of people are commenting on the whole "circle" thing)

  • Shit looks like a circle. Should user wider focal points...

  • This is a better example. watch?v=hp7AxUVX714&feature=related

  • @googledude23 Because a compass makes a "circle", this is to make an "ellipse".
