Specially when no one is going to give you a pair to start all over. I have grown up with pigeons for over 40 years; I have never killed any or eaten any. Have raised many babies from one or two days to adulthood. Even the sick ones have personalities and feel the pain.
You are very lucky that there are a lot of pigeons around, so you can afford to lose some, and also cheap to feed, and there are a lot of other good pigeon breeders who will give them to you for free. Imagine your last champion stock pigeon is sick, will you try to save his life and breed for the next racing season or the old fashion way of straight to the bin? will continue please read on.
The old fashion way, to put a sick pigeon in the bin is not good. If you truly loved them for what they are you should separate them and do anything possible to save them. If you are only concerned about your own pleasure of winning races, then go right ahead and kill them. will continue, please read on.
