  • Wonderful series of videos. It's truly an honor to see this lecture. Thank you!

  • @rehulapontus Check out "Incompleteness, The Proof and Paradox of Kurt Godel" by Rebecca Goldstein. It's a wonderful non-technical exploration of Godel's work. Of course, if you take a further interest, there are numerous texts available that describe the mathematics and the ramifications of Godel's work.

And yes, in America we pronounce Godel somewhat like "gurdal".

  • Thanks for the upload. This video is a very valuable contribution even though it has not received great popularity so far.

Can someone suggest a popular science book to read about the continuum hypothesis?

Is that a common American way to pronounce Gödel like Paul Cohen does it in his speech?

  • It is enthralling to hear Cohen talk about his relationship with Goedel, and quite moving to hear the generosity with which he talked about the anticipations of his own method in the work of Skolem. It is a pity that the audience for these clips falls away so fast. Some of the best stuff is in the last couple of clips, but only 10 per cent of the audience survives to hear it.

  • Very informative. This will help me in my future calculations.

It is very nice to put a tribute up to dad.
