In September 2008, the Eastern Suburbs Roosters came across to Auckland to square off against the NZ Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium in the second round of final matches. Unfortunately (in similar circumstances to the '04 GF) they could not convert their 13-6 lead into a victory. This highlights package was recorded on a normal digital camera so the quality isn't the best and it features the Roosters on attack (mainly in the first half). It was the final match in the Red, White and Blue for Anthony Tupou, Dave Shillington and try scoring king Amos Roberts. With a team including 2008 RLPA co-player of the year Braith Anasta, former golden boot winner and holder of the top 2 metres made in a season Anthony Minichiello, NSW half Mitchell Pearce, QLD enforcer Nate Myles, World Cup winners Sam Perrett and Setaimata Sa, new recruits including Jordan Tansey and Sisi Waqa as well as a forward pack including former Clive Churchill Medal Winner Willie Mason and Mark "The Ogre" O'Meley and the highest point scoring forward of all time Craig Fitzgibbon 2009 will hopefully be a better year than 2008 for the Sydney Roosters.

  • Intelligence in your username? That's an oxymoron

  • Did you know they're not called Easts Roosters right?

  • Yes, I know that. It's just that I like to honor their heritage since they were known as Easts until '94.

  • Are you serious? how old are you? does that match your IQ?... bye now..

  • until 1994 they where the Eastern Suburbs Roosters, abbriviated to Easts, you are a clown

  • You loser...what does the history of the Roosters got to do with the fact they are NOT called Easts Roosters?

The football club is called Sydney Roosters and where you go after a home game for a post match presentation is called Eastern Suburbs Leagues Club... What they have been called in in the past is irrelevant. No comment back necessary. pppsshh!

  • ignorance on your part in a big way - learn a bit of history about the Eastern Suburbs Rugby League Club (aka Sydney Roosters) before you comment.

  • Why put the music on :(
