Children as young as 10 years old are being forced into the Myanmar army, according to a report released today by New York-based group, US rights group, Human Rights Watch.
UN is only coming to focus on this issue of child soldiers this year after so many years of reportings.
the report hope to press the UN into taking action against the burmese military for breaking the international laws.
The report is 135 pages long.
The number on the arms of the 2 kids says '55' and '99'. that's the army company/infantry unit number... whatever. I don't know anything about soldiers. Sorry.
these people basically target crowded places where they will frighten and coerce the kids into following them and eventually enlisting into the army. some are as young as 10.. most of these kids are ophans.. or homeless.
the kids from then on will receive about 4 months of military training before some being sent to the front line.
with few and far enlisting into the army willingly, the army is now depending on child traffickers/agents to get the supply of children. they will literally buy the childrens from the poor families and sell them back to the army. if that doesn't meet the quota they will 'kidnap' children broad day light.
I raise up but I hate this story, It should had not had happend.

it's really frightening that these kids are being treated like inanimate items and traded like commodities with price on their heads.

the rest is about the report, this woman called Jo Becker and some other statistics..
there are thousands of child soldiers in the burmese military.
this has been going on for decades.
some big wig from the military named U Ye Thut formally dismissed the report as that of propangada from the rebel groups operating on the borders.

this report is compiled after surveying the border areas lining myanmar, thailand and china.
there are 20 countries that the human rights groups are aware of that make use of child soldiers. and burma is among the top few.

Thank you so much for this evident backing story. It would be great if we can have that in English.
