I paid 11,000 dollars for my 07 fxd. I used to ride a vstar 100. the vstar was a good bike with little or no personality. I got sick of pulling up to a bunch of harley guys and feeling inferior. I hate driveshafts too. To each his own, you will never convince a honda guy that his honda is inferior to a hd. As for me, I would rather have a sister in a whorehouse than a brother on a honda!

Right on man! I couldn't have said it better. Plastic fucking toys buzzing around like insects. That's how I always refer to Jap. scrap. Cheers to you!

I really hate to see Americas hating on Harley's so often. There is one thing that I always feel on the foreign bikes that I never feel on the Harley's and that is when I am running down the road by my self mile after mile diggin the ride, in the zone I never feel like a traider on my Harley. (i just noticed I was here 1 year ago, not much traffic) itisaboutus.c

all this so you can justify supporting foreign industry.

so, this is a HD, made for drag racing? Well, i don't know about you, but I didn't like anything on this bike, except for the motor sound. A HD is a HD of course, but that is the uglyest HD i've ever seen.
I used to own a Harley. It had a ton of style and it made you feel like the coolest guy on the street. However, I wanted more horsepower in a lighter, more reliable setup. Thus I chose the TL1000R. I just think Harley could offer a better product especially when you compare it to the competition. Look at what Victory is doing with it's bikes. This guy obviously worked his ass off modifying this bike. Jap horsepower is just cheaper I guess.

I enjoy everything with two wheels. But you can "invent" more for HD's that have a bigger impact on the performance or ride than you can for most other bikes. More room to improve or play, depending on the veiwpoint.
Victory has done a first rate job with its engineering, but it hasn't gotten full respect of rider community, yet.
There is style, grace and host of other attributes any bike can have. Each bike has differing amounts of each. Just remember that we all love two wheels!!

Hmmm. Slow and heavy. If you want a fast v-twin for cheap, get a TL1000R. Stock they put out 135hp and they don't ride like shit either.

It is amazing how "one dimensional" many riders can be. You only see the world through the eyes of the type of bike you ride. Your comments are yet another case of a rider who has little imagination, mechanical ability and respect for other bikes/riders.
TL is a nice bike, but could you go out and build these type of upgrades for any bike? This bike is as much about the 'journey' of building it as the final results, which are very good for a Harley.

Now that's a good Harley, one that has almost zero Harley stock parts! He said 120HP at first, then 130-140HP later. Wow! Or is he full of crap? I'll stick with my stock 172HP, (150HP at the tire) Honda CBR that weighs 200 lbs less. My shirt: "IF YOU CAN READ THIS, GET USED TO IT H-D BOY BECAUSE YOU'LL NEVER PASS ME"

Your CBR is typical Honda. It does its job admirably and effectively. But it has no soul.
The HD's 140HP is at the flywheel and the 120 was rear wheel. Enough HP to set 2 land speed records. How many do you have with your bike? Zero. I though so. How speeds compare to similar vehicles under LSR rules is a much better indication of relative performance levels.
FYI, I've got a ZZR1200 Kaw with 146HP at the rear wheels.
The appeal of HD's is in the building. Try it, you might like it.
