The master stages of Super Monkey Ball 2 are played, first surprisingly well, but then my concentration is lost and I start making many mistakes, especially master extra 10 where I made so many mistakes (some not entirely my fault - the camera). This video covers the entire master difficulty setting for challenge mode (of the main game), without cheats and is split into three parts.

The second part involves the ten extra stages of the master difficulty. This is where things start going bad. Stage 1 goes well. For stage 2, I often restrict myself to only getting the red goal because stage 3 is extremely difficult and stage 4 is next to impossible without pausing. As a result, I actually deliberately fall off the stage if I don't make it. Although I'm a master at falling, the camera in that one case messed me up. Stage 5 is mostly timing. The first wheel is easy, if I do it right (and I did). The second, however, is the real problem as I often end up running out of time losing 5 lives from it. This was just a lucky one. Stage 6 is fairly easy. Just keeping a constant speed and having fine control movement is all you really need. Stage 7 is best done when you start the dash from the start at 59:50. This'll get you the green goal and will skip a very difficult stage where only a long drop from is my best chance to completing it, otherwise, I run out of time about 80% of the way there, if I don't fall off (which is quite common). Stage 9 is easier than it looks. First, start a dash straight across. Immediately upon the second bounce, abruptly turn to the right. A half second after the impact, turn left and you should get it. This is a newly discovered tactic and I haven't really fine-tuned it yet, causing the loss of several lives. Stage 10 is roughly as difficult as the dreaded "cylinders" stage. The first turn is easy - I have a 99% success rate. The second turn is where I frequently struggle, and is the cause of the loss of many lives, but it's still not the worst. The turn from the second to the third, however, is the worst. The camera is often a problem due to the handle being there. I often tend to start too early as well, which plays a role. This part was actually trimmed down as I don't think you'd like to watch me go from 80-some lives down to 50-some taking several minutes. I did include some of the struggling to get an idea though. I have yet, since I first played this game, to devise a better strategy for this stage 10.

  • i can post a video of the SMB1 master stages if you want, btw great video, i love how you dont just do replays like some people do, theres no skill involved

  • I don't use replays because of one thing actually - no speed indicator.

  • You're amazing T_T

In your opinion Ulillillia, what's the hardest Master/Extra in SM2? What's the hardest Master in SM1? And overall which is the absolute hardest Master for you?

  • I've never seen the master stages in SMB1 - I've only once gotten expert extra. Thus, only SMB2's master stages are known. M5, M6 (too much luck involved), M7, ME3 (otherwise always skipped), ME4 (otherwise always skipped), ME8 (assuming this is helix), and ME10 are the worst ones to me.

  • what am i watching........

  • Did you see a goal in 6:02 ?

  • I skip those because they're frustratingly difficult. ME4 is especially difficult without pausing the game repeatedly to work around reaction time limitations. I don't recall what ME3 and ME8 are (the titles) so I can't tell exactly what is what. I'm thinking ME4 is "planets".

  • @ulillillia why do you skip master ex3 master ex4 and master ex8?

  • If I recall, I get into it by falling from a high point with lots of forward speed.

  • @ChihuahuaLover9991 or are the 4 smaller circles on the small circles not spinning? but anyway that is one dizzy machine

  • you're amazing. i don't know how you play so amazingly using physics but you do.

dizzy system= spinning circle with 2 circles with 4 circles with 4 circles spinning on it. so there are 43? circles spinning on that stage. talk about dizzy

  • ugh. I HATE stage 9 on master extra... It's practically luck...

  • the extra stage 9 looks like the Mad Tea Party at every Disney parks.
