It's pretty much unbelievable to me that this knife, brand new, cost me only $28. Here's a compact tactical and EDC blade that features textured G10 handles, skeletonized SS liners, strong liner lock (from all appearances), functional jimping on both the top and bottom (!), good 4 corner clip, strong lockup, and super fast deployment riding on phosphor bronze bushings. The feel is solid, balance is good, the deployment is rapid (thanks to the phosphor bronze bushing), and the lockup is flawless on the Tenacious. The full flat ground 8Cr13MoV blade (like AUS8) is beautifully finished and I think will handle most cutting tasks very well (it is on the wide side however). Like Japanese-made AUS8 steel, 8Cr13MoV is a high carbon (.8%) stainlees steel that is balances corrosion resistance, edge holding, toughness, and ease of sharpening well. Expect good but not excellent rust resistance from this steel. The one downside I can detect is insufficient in-handle retention caused by a weak detent. But thats about it. Intially I had discounted this blade as being too heavy and therefoer I wasn't interested. I was wrong. This is an outstanding, EXTREMELY HIGH VALUE blade that I suspect can pretty much handle whatever you throw at it. This knife offers amazing value (like a more affordable Spyderco Caly3). /////////////////////////// Nutnfancy Likeability Scale for Spyderco Tenacious: 8 of 10 (price considered)

  • Awesome knife!! picked up the black blade for $34... Love it! feels made for my hand...opens in a snap! NEW EDC!!! I will buy another in the future...I would like a Manix2 also, but at 2 to 1, I can pay to have a second sharpened tenacious in the drawer, and the action is not sticky at all! Thanks Nutnfancy, I SEE why you rave on the Tenacious, I love mine too!

  • guess i miss the 25$ deal on amazon =/ got it for 30$

  • Where would you rate this compared to the Delica 4? I am looking at both. The difference is about $27. Go for the Delica or get the Tenacious and put the extra cash towards other gear?

  • Hey nutn, if you didn't already know, Spyderco now has a blackened tenacious in their lineup. I believe you'd agree with me resists rust a little bit better and decreases the high-profile look (especially on the pocket clip) which would be good for situations where it's needed; such as being clipped on the pocket of a soldier. It'd be cool if you bought one and made a quick kinda show-off video for it since you already have a full-blown tenacious review. Although I wouldn't mind another one ;)

  • and then u cut yourself. bbtw i bought this knife

  • @rangodash 100 percent agree with you the blade is the whole reason you buy the knife

  • @ianarno i was the same as you when i first saw spyderco's. i started watchin more reviews on em and finally bought one. now im screwed im so addicted to spyderco lol. so once u buy one get ready to open ur wallet up for more haha. their great knives tho

  • For a few more bucks you could get a spydy with such better steel, in my opinion blade steel is more important than handle material

  • @xXToxicCinemaXx me too
