Which camera is quicker: the Galaxy Nexus with it's camera unlock and zero shutter delay or the Xperia Ion with it's fast capture feature? We put it to the test with this head to head challenge by Rob Jackson from http://phandroid.com and Steve Albright form http://GTVsource.com !

ha NEXUS GOT OWNED. I'm glad I'm getting my iON. NEXUS phones takes too damn long to reach to any carrier and lost the camera race

Not a fair competition - the reason the Nexus is faster is because it's running ICS with updated camera software.

@marc4life10 Not really, it's actually quite informative. Think of it as a sort of comparison of a phone with a shutter button to a phone without, and how the former can be really helpful.
On the flip side, as much as I love the fast capture option on the Ion, what's the point if you don't know what the camera is seeing? The screen is off...you have to guess to as to what you're framing.

i have the nexus on verizon which is okay but since verizon coverage is not that good and at&ts coverage is i will get the ion on at&t wen it comes out :)

No, my friend you're wrong the Xperia ION records in 1080p not 720p, otherwise this would be a thumbs up video!

Galaxy nexus can shoot 720p and 1080p, 1080p @24fps, 720p@ 30fps and front facing camera with 720p.

@don198769 Galaxy Nexus has faster shutter speed since its only 5MP. XPERIA ion is 12MP so it takes a little longer to save the picture. iPhone 4S' camera IS made by Sony after all too.
