@amwjaguar my fish had babies 3 times i dont think she does not like the fry but if she didn;t want babies she would swallow them cause when they get frightened or she thinks it is unsafe they auctaully do swallow there baby!

I have a question. My Kenyi Cichlid just spit out her babies today.. she is in a 5 gal aquarium with a good amount of hiding places, and an old ship that is a very good hiding place that the mother can't quite fit in. When should I move the female out of the tank and will the fry be fine in the 5 gal? I am afraid of her eatting them. I am new to this and have no idea what the hell I am doing. :S I read up on the subject, but I am still confused.

So she wasnt happy to have them born? Is it normal for them to go back in once released?

Brilliant to see someone getting it just right. well done great you managed to catch it on film. My tank is to busy to catch on film there not out long enough.

Oh Ya! She keeps the fertilized eggs in her mouth until they hatch. Then she is there protection. Pretty cool. Mothers are great!
