Swamp Thing at Cypress Gardens Adventure Park

This is the Swamp Thing roller coaster at Cypress Gardens Adventure Park in Winter Haven, FL. It opperated here until Nov 17, 2008 when it was decided that all the amusement park rides will be shut down so the park can do some major restructuring. The park never reopened and was eventually sold to Merlin Entertainment and they announced this ride as well as a few others would remain when they transform most of this park to the worlds largest LegoLand park.

Since Legoland bought CG, they are re-purposing this coaster into one called "Flight School.'

@ataritimes They seem to be doing that all over the park. Saving trees, recycling the walkways. It's good to see they're trying to reuse things where they can instead of ripping out trees and sidewalks only to put in new ones.

This ride hurt my head. I got whiplashed on this ride. I'm not sure if I was leaning forward at the time. But now I know to keep your head back when riding.
