Taking Havel's Ring & Killing the Hydra - Darkroot Basin (EP5)

Doing work in Darkroot Garden, our first target is Havel (and he hits hard). We also loot a Crystal Lizard and Black Knight before taking on the first Hydra in a grueling engagement. Lots of loot and souls for a ~16 minute run!

@trogoy 1. Get right behind an enemy (and as close to them as possible) and press R1 (or RB).

2. Time your execution just as the enemy is attacking you and press L2 (or LT), then press R1 (or RB) as fast as possible.

@endofline98 Don't even bother with the Drake Sword, it is pretty bad later in the game and it doesn't allow you to learn how to play the game properly at the start. It also scales very poorly.

I take out black knights easy at level 23 using a +7 zweihander and primary +1 drake sword. Hit them with Zweihander first to knock them back, and then go in for the kill with the drake sword. You can also two shot the crystal things with zweihander.

dude if you can kill the hydra, why not the titanite demon? Its really easy. Just go behind it.

@Bazger74 Right now i have the Black Knight Great sword + 5 and Quelaag's Fury +2 and a lightning whip trying to decide which one i like more but i guess i'll give the lightning spear a run

It does very good damage at 5+, and im using it even now, I just killed the four kings, im gonna fight the last boss when i get all the trophies first !

@Bazger74 ahh well....i guess the drake sword only makes the first few areas easy heh i've been looking for a good weapon to use honestly ive only played for a month but im not bad have any recommendations? i prefer fast weapons but if you can find one that hits hard but is a little slower im all ears :D

@JeremysaysHAHAHA i never used a exploit, it strips off the fun, i used the drake sword for a while, but it doesnt scale with my strenght, so i use a zwei 15+ and a lighting spear
