You'd think this guy would have been famous forever, but maybe he's being discovered. I've never know of anyone except me who'd read his book let alone owned a copy.
I'm reading his auto biography right now. (Jan 2011) called Trumpet On THe Wing. Never knew about him before finding it. Every other page is an outrageous story...plus, he was at all the right places at the right time...bringing Teagarden to New York, .sometimes everybody in his band was missing something on their body...(eyes, feet, etc.) and when they would get paid, the owners would tell the band that including all of them, they were missing a whole guy. Pay for 8 instead of 9 guys...
