  • If Nintendo came out in 1985 how did this game come out in 1983?

  • @mrgoffle It was released in the arcade first, that's the version this video shows. You see, there used to be these rooms, see, called "arcades"? And in these rooms were lined all these cabinets, and every one had a different video game inside. You would take these things called "quarters" and feed them into the cabinet in order to get the game to operate. When you left the "arcade" you had to be careful not to get run over by a stampeding herd of mastodons. ;)

  • The dude playing Mario sucks ass lol

  • @MistahScenekid I mention this below, but there are a lot of comments here so I will reiterate: that's my wife you're talking about! ;)

  • @ioport Mario is not for fags. Mario is a classic game. And I'm ok if you don't like him but do not take this the wrong way. It's just a game and if you got nothing nice to say then I suggest you F**k off.

  • @Umma6umma

    Still, she can do better.

  • @Umma6umma haha great comment that guy is an idiot

  • @trilobright I don't think that story about New York was invented for the actual games.

  • Was there any deliberate storyline continuity between this and SMB1 for NES? I know this game was based on the premise of strange creatures invading New York's sewers and the Mario Brothers being called in to stop them, but was it ever officially stated that Mario and Luigi followed the creatures back to their home world, the setting of Mario 1, 3, et al?

  • @mrgoffle Nintedo was already in existence since the 50s, I think. They didn't "come out" in 1985, that was just the year they released the NES, which isn't even the first home video game console they made.

This Mario Bros. game was also on the Atari 2600, though with less defined graphics.

  • So many things that have survived through the years that were invented so many years ago. Picking up coins and the sound they make, that jump with the raised arm, turtles as enemies, the POW block... go back to '83, tell the guys who designed and programmed this that everything they're doing will have such a great repercussion and they'll laugh at you.
