@searanox You can't blame these guys for what a bunch of dickhead bro-core dudes did ten years later. These guys were innovators, to be just a few Slayer fans that wrote something so progressive is awesome. Their style is their own and then a bunch of wanna-be gangbanger/marine/frat boys stole it and douched it up. That is not their fault. Even though I generally enjoy this album, I also have to blame it for all the terrible, uninspired melodeath and metalcore clones that came in its wake. The sad thing is it's never really been done better since then and yet it's probably the most oversaturated of all metal genres and has had one of the greatest negative influences.
