  • Ah sorry, you are correct. I assumed cuz it didn't have the boom and that the old electras are used up here for fire fighting that it was an electra.

    I'm a retired air force P3 (well CP140) engineering officer.

  • Nope, sorry... it IS a P-3 Orion. I see you live in Canada... you guys have the Air Spray 188s up there, but down here in the states we operate P-3s. Aero Union owns numerous P-3s, of which the tanker seen in this video (Tanker 00) was their first. I've been all over this aircraft, it's N number with the FAA is N900AU. Look it up and you'll find that it's not an Electra.

    Visually just look at pictures of it. It has the extended tail for the mad boom. L-188s do not.

  • Very cool. Technically not a P3 or CP 140 it's a L-188 Electra. The predecessor to the P3, almost the same.
