On October 6th 2009, early childhood candidates enrolled in Dr. Diana Suskind's fine arts class participated in "Chimes for Compassion" with kindergartners from a local area school. The event took place during the school day and children decorated a tree outside of their school with chimes that they made with student teachers at Fitchburg State College.
This video was produced to illustrate the tree and its story. As the figurative and physical aspects of the tree represent different families throughout the United States, the branches of the tree represent a typical family tree. The chimes represent the song of compassion we have for each other.
